This was the first in a series of abstract paintings I did depicting the Riverfire event, a fireworks show that lights up the Brisbane river, which is held in Brisbane at the end of August every year to start the Brisbane Festival, an annual even intended to foster the arts. This painting shows the Story Bridge in Brisbane with Kangaroo Point on the left, and is an abstract of the fireworks display from the Bridge and the river.
All of the paintings I did in this series sold. I use this particular image as ongoing promotion of my work, which in my view is the nicest one out of the series I did.
This is an acrylic on stretched canvas painting. The painting depicts Brisbane as viewed from New Farm, and is based on the Riverfire event in Brisbane that occurs every year around the end of August. The Riverfire event includes entertainment, fireworks and is a celebration of the river.
